Paxil dosage for depression:
The
Paxil dosage for patients with depression will be different for each individual.
You should always follow your doctor's orders and take your Paxil dosage as
prescribed or the directions on the label of your prescription bottle. If the
dosage prescribed by your doctor is different from others, you should not change
it before you talk to your doctor. The following information includes only the
average Paxil dosages.
Paxil dosage-oral suspension form:
Adults
The Paxil dosage for adults will usually begin at 20 mg once a day, which is
usually taken in the morning. The usual adult dosage is not usually more than 50
mg per day.
Children
The use and dose of Paxil for children will need to be determined by your
physician.
Older adults
Usually older adults are started at 10 mg once a day, which is usually taken in
the morning. Your doctor will increase your dosage as needed but will probably
not exceed 40 mg per day.

The use and dosage of this antidepressant for children will always need to be
determined by your doctor.
Older adults
Most older adults began at 12.5 mg taken once a day. This medicine is usually
taken in the morning. Your doctor may increase your Paxil dosage if needed, but
will not usually exceed more than 50 mg per day.
Storage of Paxil:
You should never keep outdated medicine or medicine that is no longer need.
Always make sure that this and all medicines are out of the reach of children.
You should always store medicine away from heat and direct light. Also, you
should never store the tablet form of this antidepressant in the bathroom, near
the kitchen sink or any other damp area or places where heat or moisture may
cause this medicine to break down. Always keep the oral suspension form of this
medicine from freezing.
When you miss your Paxil dosage:
If you forget to take your usual Paxil dosage, you need to take it as soon as
possible. If it is almost time for your next dose however, you need to skip the
missed dose and go back your regular scheduled amount and times. You should
never double up on your Paxil dosage.
