Meridia Dosage: How much is too much?

Recommended Meridia dosage:

Meridia dosage for adults:

The usual starting dose is 10 mg once a day.  If you have not lost at least 4 pounds after the first month, your doctor may increase your Meridia dosage to 15 mg daily.  This is usually the maximum Meridia dosage. If you do not have weight loss at this point in time, your Meridia therapy will usually be discontinued.

If you experience side effects at the 10 mg level, your doctor may then recommend a 5 mg dosage of Meridia.  Studies have not been done to indicate whether this weight loss medication should be used for a period longer than one year.

Meridia overdosage:

Although physicians have not had much experience with overdoses of Meridia, increased heart rate and blood pressure are very possible results.  Any medication taken in excess of the recommended dosage can have serious consequences, and you should seek medical attention immediately if you suspect that overdosage has occurred.

How should you take this weight loss medication?

Your Meridia dosage can be taken with or without food.

If you miss your Meridia dosage...

You should take it as soon as you remember.  If it's almost time for your next dose, you should skip the one you missed and go back to your regular dosage routine.  You should never take two doses at one time.

Storage instructions...

You should always store your Meridia dosage at room temperature away from heat and moisture in a tight, light resistant container.
