Lexapro dosage : How and when do you take this antidepressant? 

Lexapro dosage overview: 

lexaproYou should take your Lexapro dosage exactly as prescribed even after you begin to feel better.  Although improvement will usually begin within one to four weeks, your treatment with this antidepressant will typically continue for at least several months.  You should take this depression medication with or without food. 

If you miss your Lexapro dosage… 

You should take the forgotten dosage as soon as you remember.  However if it's almost time for your next dose, skip the one you missed and return to your regular schedule.  You should never take two doses of this antidepressant at once. 

Storage instructions... 

Lexapro should be stored at room temperature. 

Recommended Lexapro dosage: 

Adults: 

The recommended Lexapro dosage is 10 mg once a day.  If necessary, the doctor may increase the dose of this antidepressant to 20 mg after a minimum of one week, but the higher dose will probably not be recommended for most senior adults and people who have had problems with their liver. 

Lexapro overdosage: 

A massive Lexapro overdosage can be fatal.  If you suspect an overdose of this antidepressant you should seek emergency treatment immediately.  

Typical symptoms of Lexapro overdosage include: 

Dizziness, sweating, nausea, vomiting, tremors, drowsiness, rapid heartbeat, seizures 

In some very rare cases a Lexapro overdosage may also cause memory loss, confusion, coma, breathing problems, muscle wasting, irregular heartbeat, and a bluish tinge of the skin.
