Instant Stress Relief at Work - Stress-Dissolving Tool at Your Fingertips

By Lynne Shaner

It's no newsflash to mention that stress levels are rising to unheard of levels in our lives. It is almost impossible to get through a day at the office (whether your office is in a posh law firm or at kitchen table) without hearing at least one person complain about stress. And maybe that person is you. We've all heard the gruesome statistics showing that 70-90% of all visits to the doctor's office are directly related to stress. Many say that the same goes for diseases in general-70% or more are a direct result of stress. And even if we don't have some full-blown malady catching our attention, looming layoffs and dwindling 401Ks have made everyone more edgy than usual (there's an understatement) The upshot? Poor performance, increased depression, low morale, coming home and kicking the family dog.

This is not news. What is newsworthy, though, is that we now have at our fingertips (literally, and more about that in a sec) a mind/body tool---a consciousness technology, if you will---that allows us to gently dissolve stress and release our tension-packed blocks, rebalance our systems, and return to normal calm functioning. It takes a matter of moments. The tool is something called EFT, which stands for Emotional Freedom Techniques. It is one of the best of the new mind/body approaches we know---think of it as "green medicine," or "green therapy." Look ,Ma, no drugs. And it really works. By tapping gently on a particular set of known acupressure points with our fingertips while tuning into the stressor or problem verbally, the stress or problem dissolves. Sometimes it takes a minute, sometimes a few minutes. Complex issues can take more work and time.) It can be done anywhere, and can be taught to just about anyone. Even you. Even me.

Imagine being able to dissolve the stress and fears that are causing illness and holding you or your employees back. Fear of public speaking is one of the most common of all fears; think of what it would be like to know that you-or your key staff members, the ones routinely represent your firm--- were free of that fear. Imagine what it might be like to routinely and quickly diffuse stressful situations. And how many people might become better performers if their stress levels were down and their ability to focus was increased substantially?

We are at the beginning of a new stage of workplace collaboration and understanding and the companies who are at their peak in terms of emotional balance-emotional intelligence, some are calling it-are going to be the ones who have the greatest advantage. Become the change you want to experience by learning EFT. It will benefit your employees and your bottom line. To find a step-by-step guide to learning and practicing EFT, there are many EFT sites available. Start dissolving stress now!
